O.H KRILL: THE KRILL PAPERS

Max Brennan, the Isle of Wight's finest leftfield jazz funkmeister, pulled together 11 tracks for this critically acclaimed album. With some time Roy Ayers collaborator Rupert Brown (drums, percussion, keyboards), James Nye (soprano saxophone, keyboards), The Bees' frontman Paul Butler (trumpet, percussion, keboards) and Tom Vernon (acoustic guitar), bassist and multi-instrumentalist Max Brennan has succeeded in creating a wonderfully eclectic jazz concoction.

Another case of divine jazz funk intervention . . . sublime cinematic soundtrack playing . . . mellow jazz jams, driving funk, Latin crescendos and tabla and sitar inspired bliss . . . Wax - November 2000

. . . the hypnotic lo-tech whirl of Broccoli Head and the spooked metallic trip-soul of Obsevation Lens, are dimmed-lights, slow-burning beauties. UnCut, November 2000

. . . these sounds are fat and full on . . if you like it deep and weird, check this out. DJ, 7-20th October, 2000

O.H Krill's smash-and-grab eclecticism is focused and rollicking good fun. The Guardian, 27th October, 2000

. . . a brilliant collection of cinematic, jazz-based soundscapes . . . an accomplished piece of work that will further establish Max Brennan as one of our finest nu-generation musicians. SNC, autumn 2000
